Aikido (a term made of three Japanese words: Harmony (AI), energy (KI) and the way (DO) is a wonderful martial arts practice for children, because is a non-aggressive and non-competitive form of self-defense, that helps children build physical fitness, body awareness, balance, coordination, mental focus and respect.

Training at the Dojo is a partner practice, which means children will be building respectful and cooperative relationships between each other and their teacher.  Also, Aikido is a non-competitive martial art form, and children must work together as a group in order to progress in level and ability.

At Aikido Miami, students learn lessons for in and out of the dojo, gaining a self-knowledge and ways to re-direct their own minds and energies into a positive and peaceful direction.
